McGrory's Hotel Wedding, Donegal - Kate & Dan - Weddings & Portraits

When Kate and Dan stated that they are “a bit geeky” I couldn’t wait to see what little details the couple had prepared for their wedding day to entertain their guests, and I wasn’t disappointed! From their brilliant Star Wars bobble-head cake toppers to the Star Wars quotes on their rings and Game of Throne’s wedding vows engraved on Dan’s watch, it was clear they had put plenty of time and passion into their day!

It was a chilled out morning for Kate and her girls getting ready at McGrory’s, with Dan and his lads preparing themselves just down the road as well, and after a touching ceremony (with beautiful vows) we headed to Culdaff’s village green for the family photos and then a little dander around the village with their couple for their portraits. For such a small place, Culdaff has a wealth of gorgeous little nooks and crannies that were the perfect match for Kate’s tea-length dress and colourful Irregular Choice shoes and we were to create a stunning collection of photos all less than five minutes walk from the hotel!

Dan’s speech as man of the day made it clear to everyone that he was having the time of his life and loving every moment of his wedding day and there were plenty of tears in guests’ eyes by the time he sat back down! As always, Best Man Dan, brought out a few forgotten tales and home truths just to keep Dan in line and ensured the guests had something to chat about during their meal! After the couple’s first dance the bride and groom stepped onto the dancefloor again, this time with their mothers as a perfect thank you to their favourite ladies, before no doubt partying long into the night.

Thank you both for choosing me for your wedding photography, Collette and I had a brilliant day with you and your family and I can’t wait to catch up with you after your honeymoon!
