For 2012 I have set myself the challenge of taking an interesting photograph every day. The photos don’t have to be technically perfect, and can be about anything (though I might set myself some short-term themes throughout the year) so could be about something notable that happened that day, or if it was a boring day I’ll have to find something interesting to shoot! The rules are simple, the photo has to be taken on the day though it can be published later, it has to be taken by me, although I can use remotes and timers, as long as I set them and I can edit them as long as I don’t distort the meaning, i.e. I can take a self portrait, but can’t make it look like I’m standing on the moon!
Have fun viewing the photos, and any suggestions for themes feel free to
let me know!!

One of those days between Christmas and New Year’s when nothing really happens, but I decided I had to take a photo of my Slinky I received from Claire.
#364 – 29.12.12
A small Christmas reunion for the bank lads, I used to work with Andy and John. A great night out, with a slightly blurry end!
#365 – 30.12.12
Not feeling quite as intelligent as I did last night, I spent most of today in bed. Not a great day.
#355 – 20.12.12
This is Sam’s perch when everyone is upstairs.
#366 – 31.12.12
The final image!!! And what other way to end 2012 with Derry~Londonderry’s first NYE fireworks display, to celebrate the start of the UK City of Culture Year for the city!
#356 – 21.12.12
Usually when I shoot house lights its a cop out for the day, but I actually planned to get this shot before year end. Noticed it a while ago and thought it was cool.
#357 – 22.12.12
At another formal tonight and Gary was posing for a few test shots.
#358 – 23.12.12

Christmas Day with the family!! Instead of flaming brandy, mum tried a big sparkler instead this year! (And grandad is a lot happier (and awake) than he looks in this shot!)

My new camera bag (Thanks Mum & Dad!) loaded with all my kit for another wedding tomorrow.
#362 – 27.12.12
A beautiful wedding for a stunning couple, I loved this shot as soon as I took it! Lit with a speedlight to camera right and another on the floor slightly behind and out to her right.
#352 – 17.12.12
I thought these windmills looked quite cool shrouded in the clouds.
#353 – 18.12.12
The Peace Bridge during some more fog. At the time I didn’t like this shot, and actually gave up after two or three shots, but when I got home and saw it full size I was much happier!
#354 – 19.12.12
Mum & dad’s Christmas tree and their entry into Aiden’s Christmas tree competition. It only scored a participation award. Humph.
#349 – 14.12.12
Down to Portstewart for the afternoon, after lunch (in Morelli’s, natch) I had a wander with my 85mm to see if I could find anything interesting.
#350 – 15.12.12
The theme for this month’s FCC competition was triangles, and a few days earlier I heard someone commented that every shot possible had been taken of Shipquay Street. I thought bollox to that, I’ll show ’em! Scored second place.
#351 – 16.12.12
Tonight I was helping mum & dad bring the Christmas decorations from the roofspace. I pointed the (phone) camera at dad and by the time it fired he had managed to duck out of the way!
#348 – 13.12.12
So, this is what happens when you have already started cooking the spaghetti and then realise that there is no bolognese frozen in the freezer, no thawed out mince meat and only Chicken Tonight left. Tasted better than it looks!
#339 – 04.12.12
Waiting patiently and happily in Edinburgh Airport.

Out with a few guys from the camera club, thought this was quite a good shot, though I” be back sometime soon for a better sky!

Having a drink at home before heading out, I decided to turn this into the Michael J Love Photography Christmas party!! And yes, that is a giant lolly!
#344 – 09.12.12
Quite an interesting read, this book lists all of our Christmas presents and more since 1992! Though its accuracy is in doubt, as I have never owned a Gameboy
#345 – 10.12.12
One of my favourite shots from Jenny & Stephen’s wedding, a very cold but clear day!
#346 – 11.12.12
Self-portrait in the Christmas tree decoration!
